Finalizing Doodle Polls
A generic polite (I hope) note on doodle polls:
I get a lot of doodle polls, and they are a great way to organize a meeting. Particularly because you can automatically fill them in by linking them to a Google calendar. This means that all the tentative dates appear in my Google calendar (which is also my work calendar) and I don’t risk missing an appointment that I’ve agreed to attend.
However, it is really important that you choose the final date of the meeting in doodle, not by sending a separate email confirming. Otherwise I have no idea what the final date of the meeting is and I’m very likely to miss it. This is because I will also have loads of tentative appointments in my calendar for the meeting you are trying to organize. This also unnecessarily messes up my calendar for other meetings.
In summary, if you want me to attend your meeting please finalize the poll in Doodle, not with a separate mail, otherwise I’m likely to become confused (I’m easily confused)! Only you can do this through the ‘admin link’ of the poll which is sent when the poll is set up.
